Help me bring my passion for full access tech to rural Anzar High School. I know from previous experience teaching at a 1:1 school that when all students have access to Chromebooks as part of the daily lesson routine, the possibilities are limitless. Tech becomes not just a tool for occasional word processing in the classroom, but a vehicle with which to interact and fact-check a text (Actively Learn), to create authentic expressions of our learning for a worldwide audience (Weebly, WeVideo), and to access differentiated content and study tools for a personalized academic experience (Newsela, EdPuzzle, Noredink). Though my school is part of an underserved rural community, Silicon Valley is just a short drive away, which means my students have a unique opportunity to lift themselves and their families out of poverty if only they have the skills to compete. Please help me make sure they have the tools they need to share their gifts with the world. $9,100 would provide a class set of Chromebooks and licensing for at least 5 years, significantly impacting the academic careers of over 750 students.

Why I Teach: I teach for the girl who discovers she wants to be an immigration attorney because of the love of debate she developed in my class. I teach for the boy who wants to be the first DREAMer tech CEO after he developed a penchant for video editing in my Shakespeare unit. I teach because every child deserves a quality education in which they uncover the unique gifts they hold for the world.
