My Students

My students love technology but our school is lacking in resources. We have a very limited number of computers throughout the school. Each classroom has one computer available for students to use. I received a grant earlier in the year to fund the purchase of five tablets to increase the amount of technology in the classroom. When the students saw them their eyes lit up and everyone cheered! They love using the tablets for media projects, math, and sharing their learning with their family, Now we would like to incorporate writing and typing with the tablets by purchasing Bluetooth keyboards.
My Project

Our class would like to obtain four wireless Bluetooth keyboards to utilize during writing time to publish creative stories, poetry, and other writing pieces. We have already purchased one Bluetooth keyboard through a separate grant that the students are currently using. They love connecting the Bluetooth device and typing wirelessly! Typing using the virtual keyboard is pretty ineffective due to the small screen and lack of physical keys. The Bluetooth keyboards will allow the students to use a physical piece of hardware that integrates seamlessly into our available classroom resources. In addition to word processing, the students will use them to practice typing skills and learn about the concepts of Bluetooth & wireless technology.
