The Whelan Children's Center educate the child as a whole while enhancing student's creative process. The children's center primary teaching goals are to help young children use the classroom environment productively, interact with other children and adults, and see themselves as capable learners - as individuals who are developing the skills and understandings that will enable them to make sense of the world and to succeed in it. Children's creativity is supported through an environment that encourages them to try out ideas and risk making mistakes. Teachers' creativity is supported by a curriculum framework that encourages them to be innovative and responsive to children. We enhance the child's self-concept by encouraging his/her creativity. Unfortunately, our teachers lack technology to facilitate online observation and to do annual state checkpoint guidelines. The Whelan Children's Center is in need of laptops and I-pads.
