I would love to be able to give my students, who come from low-income homes, the opportunity to gain and apply literacy skills through technology. I plan to use two Kindles in a classroom library so that students can read and/or listen to books and so that they can practice reading their sight words through apps. In addition to the classroom library Kindles, I will be using three Kindles in my Phonics Awareness station to reinforce letter names and sounds, to practice writing letters, and to gain practice with spelling basic phonetic words. All of these skills will be achieved through the use of educational apps as well as resources found online. Thank you for your consideration with my mission.
