I would like to have a listening center for our school library. I teach classes all day long for every grade level from Pre-School thru fifth grade. My goal is to have a listening station and several other stations that will help my students learn to become better readers and life long readers. The benefits of a listening station are vast, but include building sight word vocabulary, modeling of phrasing and fluency, exposure to a variety of story structures/genres, listening skills, fosters independence, and provides students with a varied way to learn and respond to literature.
