Have you ever had the opportunity to read something that made you want to sit down and share your ideas with someone? Well, these second graders need opportunities for great literature, rich discussion, and sometimes, interactive text. The four iPads requested would be used for just that and so much more. Please consider helping these amazing students learn to love to read through a new format that allows multiple books to be read as well as books of varying levels. An iPad adapter is also being asked for so that students can interact with a text on a whole group level. The book can be projected onto a whiteboard to aid in learning new words, sentence fluency, marking where thinking occurs, or simply proving their ideas using the text provided. Thank you for considering helping this classroom stay current with technology and fostering a deep love of reading. Being metacognitive is what it is all about!

Why I Teach: I LOVE what students can teach me as well as what I teach students. I teach for the moments when students have those "light bulb" experiences. Those times when everything falls into place and they truly understand the concepts. I teach because children need great school experiences!
