NEW Academy is a high poverty school serving 100% hispanic students all receiving free or reduced price lunch. This year we are implementing a new Transitional Kindergarten program to help our youngest learners start Kindergarten prepared. Our goal is to close the achievement gap between the rich and the poor in education and we hope that by reaching these children at a young age we can enhance and develop their love for learning. We are asking for an iPad to use in the classroom with these young students. Many have never even been able to go on a computer let alone an iPad and the engaging programs for preschool aged children will help these students to learn letter recognition and sounds, gain mastery in early numeracy, and experience literature in an interactive way!
