Students per Class: 25 Journalism & 125 English Language Arts
Class Description:
Overall, I have 150 students: 25 in my Journalism class and 125 freshmen and sophomores. By having the technology in my classroom, I will be able to teach my journalism/yearbookstudents desktop publishing skills and Photoshop skills.
Position:
Yearbook/English Teacher
Needs:
25 Laptop computers and a charging cart
My Philosophy:
All students can learn, but not all mastery is shown by passing a paper and pencil test. I want to give my students the opportunity to learn different skills including desktop publishing, photography, and writing other than the typical five-paragraphraphessay. I want to expose them to careers combining language, journalistic writing, and computer skills.
Personal Information:
Why Do I Teach?:
After 30 years in the classroom, I still love being with kids. I learn from them just as much as they do from me. Coming off of Covid has been the most challenging three years of my career. Wish this wish of technology, I hope to teach skills that show you can do more with computer skills than scroll through videos. I want to teach them skills that can lead to real careers they do not even know exist.
