Class Information:
Students per Class: 13 maximum
Class Description:
Self-contained special education classroom, students ages 5 through 7 with varying moderate to severe needs. There are a wide range of abilities in my classroom, including cognitive, social/emotional,and functional. Common learning differences in my classroom include autism, Down Syndrome, developmental delay, sensory processing disorders, and hearing/vision impairments.
Position:
Self-Contained Kindergarten/1st Grade Special Education Teacher
Needs:
An interactive whiteboard (Promethean Board) to make learning more accessible for students who cannot progress using traditional curriculum materials or methods. Technology is the KEY to success for students with special needs, it is our future.
My Philosophy:
All children can learn, and all children have the ability to love learning. The path of learning is different for each child, but if in the right environment and given the right tools all children can be motivated to reach their goals.

Employment History:
Three years experience teaching elementary special education students.
Why Do I Teach?:
To instill a passion for learning in students where learning does not come easily; to help teach future citizens of our society; to prove that a disability is only a part of what makes the whole of a person. I love what I do!
