My students have severe Autism- currently four boys. They have beginning communication and academic skills. I provide them their core academic instruction (reading, math, life skills). The class is part of a
County-wide program for students with autism. It is called the Challenges Program and we provide specialized instruction to students with autism at the elementary, middle school and high school levels.

Employment History:
Prior to teaching, I worked in the human service field in various programs for adults with disabilities. I also did some work as a Behavioral Consultant for children and adults with disabilities. After about ten years in this field, I became a Special Education Teacher. I worked in inclusion settings and currently work in a special education classroom for students with Autism.
Why Do I Teach?:
I love working with children and helping them learn.
