I. CONTENT: I want my students to improve their keyboarding, reading and spelling skills while having fun.
II. INSTRUCTIONAL OBJECTIVES:
• The student will improve their keyboarding skills.
• The student will improve their reading and spelling skills.
III. INSTRUCTIONAL PROCEDURES:
• Introduction. Create a desktop paper copy of a keyboard for each student. The teacher calls out a letter key. The student touches the letter. Process continues with other letters. Tell students that you cannot wait for them to practice keyboarding in a more fun way. Explain to the students that they will practice keyboarding while using Speedy Keys software.
• Activity. The student will use Speedy Keys software.
IV. MATERIALS AND EQUIPMENT:
• Tool Factory Speedy Keys Software
• Computer
• Desktop paper copy of a keyboard
V. ASSESSMENT/EVALUATION:
• Teacher observation of students correctly using the Speedy Keys program.
VI. FOLLOW-UP ACTIVITY:
• Students can make a bulletin board display of a keyboard and the creatures and pies in the Speedy Keys program.
