I see 5 classes of 6th grade math students everyday.
Position:
Math Teacher
Needs:
I have one inclusion class with a few special education students and one special education teacher.
My Philosophy:
Every student can learn mathematics, no matter how difficult the concept! As the child's teacher, my goal is to find a strategy that they understand and are comfortable using. I find my students learn best in small group settings and with one-on-one help. Some students thrive with the help of of a student partner, so one of the ways that I encourage students to tackle a difficult problem is by working with another student or in small groups. That way, when they figure it out together, they will all feel successful! I strive to make as many real life connections in math class so that students realize that math will effect their everyday lives and their futures as well!

Why Do I Teach?:
I love planning engaging, interactive lessons and upon implementing them, students have that "ah-ha" moment in math class. I love seeing struggling students suddenly grasp a concept and continually revising my approaches so that all of my students can learn and realize the importance of math in their everyday lives and their futures as well.
