Class Description:
I teach 7th and 8th grade science in a rural school. Over half of my students are in low income families. I have a diverse group of students in my classroom.

Needs:
I am in desperate need of tablets for my classroom to complete interactive science lessons.
My Philosophy:
I love to teach science!! My students most often do not realize the importance of the environment or science as a whole. I want to introduce my students to real world science. I also want to give my students the same chances that students in big cities have as far as enabling them to be college and career ready.

I am a grandmother of 5 and mother of 3. I am married to the love of my life. I am also mother to a feisty cat named Thunder.

Activities:
I am an active member of Kappa Delta Pi - an international education honor society. I am a lifetime member of Beta Beta Beta - an honor society for biology. I am co-sponsor of National Junior Honor Society at my school.

Adjunct Biology Professor at Troy University 2013- 2014 7th and 8th grade science teacher at Banks School - 2014-present.
Why Do I Teach?:
I love science!! I also love to see young minds get their "Aha" moment of discovery and learn an appreciation for science in our daily lives.
