Class Description:
I am currently going on my seventh year teaching and am classified as a 3rd grade teacher. I am in a program called Project CHILD where I also teach 4th and 5th grade science. I enjoy the use of technology in my classroom everyday. I love showing videos to introduce new topics of study. I make PowerPoint presentations to teach the students about many subjects. Showing science demonstrations on an educational website gets the students excited about learning. And every year I make an end of the year video to say goodbye to another great class. Life is only becoming more technologically advanced and each generation of students to come will need to learn about the resources they have at their fingertips. My goal for my students is to use curriculum based knowledge that will create life-long learners through the use of technology. Thankyou for your donations to the Dragon's Den!!!!

About Me:
My name is Alison Dunne and I am a 3rd grade teacher who loves her job!!!!!!. My parents thought that they would never see me back in a classroom setting after all the tears and frustration I had growing up with school. I think that becoming a teacher, especially after being identified at an early age with a learning disability, has been one of my greatest achievements in life. Finishing my degree and deciding to take on a career where the pay is not great, parents of your students can either love you or hate you, BUT you know that you will make a difference in your education no matter what! My favorite moments are when my students come back year after year to tell me how much I taught them and how they will never forget me, one of their favorite teachers!!! I ABSOLUTLY love my job. It has been the most rewarding adventure of my life. My students are my inspiration and have made me the energetic, fun loving teacher that I am today. I do not have any children of my own, but I do have the pleasure in helping mold the lives of many. Some of the other responsibilities I have at my school are the following…Young Astronaut Club Sponsor, a Digital Educator, and the Newspapers in Education coordinator for my school. I was very excited to receive the honor of Teacher of the Year at my school this past school year!! It is an amazing feeling to know that I have such a great respect from my colleagues and peers!!! I am at my best as an educator when I take the time to listen to my students and try and see each and every child for who THEY are. It has been the most rewarding adventure of my life. My students are my inspiration and have made me the energetic, fun loving teacher that I am today. I do not have any children of my own, but I do have the pleasure in helping mold the lives of many with this wonderful talent I have been given.
