Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Washington FBR Branch @THEA
Class Information:
Room Number: Intel Computer
Students per Class: 220
Class Description:
After school technology program, housed in the Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Washington at THEARC, in the Southeast quadrant of Washington, DC. I work with children of some of the cities poorest performing schools and poorest neighborhoods.
Position:
Intel Computer Clubhouse Coordinator
Needs:
Our Clubhouse needs updated technology. The young people would like to start a photography program and create a living journal of the experiences.
Personal Information:
Why Do I Teach?:
To empower the youth I work with to want more out of life. So often the youth I work with have lost hope and sight on what's important, they think that violence is a way to solve problems, yelling is a way to be heard, and acting out as a way to be seen. I simply want to expose them to the different facets of LIFE.
