A J Martin School
Hometown:
East Prairie, MO
Class Information:
Students per Class: 25
Class Description:
My class is a rural, title 1 school. The classroom population is 95% free and reduced lunch. We are a small, farm community with a population of 3400.
Position:
Classroom Teacher
Needs:
We are in need of a classroom set of response clickers to facilitate formative assessments. This will help with quickly monitoring for understanding and grouping to allow for differentiation of instruction.
My Philosophy:
It is my belief that students need a classroom in which they feel respected and safe in order to demonstrate their full learning potential. Students will live up to what is expected of them. Therefore, it is the teacher's responsibility to set the bar high enough the child must work, but near enough it can be attained. Due to this a teacher must know her students strengths and weaknesses, and demonstrate a caring attitude toward all students.

In addition, I am grade level chair and a member of our school's Professional Leadership Team. I also present new and innovative teaching ideas at the district and state level in order to share ideas with other teachers.
