Class Description:
I teach 25 highly active and extremely creative students. The school overall has 48% free and reduced lunch.

Needs:
The school in which I teach has limited resources to purchase technology. Almost everything we have takes time to accumulate. It is very hard to teach a lesson using technology when we have to share so much! My class really needs a class set of digital cameras to help us learn and complete some really awe inspiring projects, a REUSEABLE flashdrive that can be assigned to my students each year to save their work, podcasting equiptment such as digital voice recorders and headphones, and 2 flip video cameras.
My Philosophy:
Every student can learn, but many need be reached in a not-so traditional way to help them reach their goals! Incorporating technology into every lesson possible will help to inspire, encourage and motivate even the hardest to reach student. Traditional teaching might be great to help a few students, but it's the hands-on, "get right into it" methods that helps everyone truely understand!

About Me:
I am a second year teacher, mother of three and wife of a fireman. I strive to be the best at anything I do and I use all my resources necessary to make things happen and get things done.
College and Degrees:
I have a Bachelors degree in Elementary Education from the University of New Orleans.
Activities:
I love to be active and play with my kids. Any activity that gets me outside is one that I am all for! I also love to read and travel as much as possible.
Favorite Books:
My favorite book lately (because it changes so quickly!!) is Something Borrowed. I just finished it and can't get it out of my head!!
Favorite Quotes:
"The Expert in Anything was Once a Beginner" is my favorite. It is on the wall in my classroom. I don't know who said it but it is so true.
Why Do I Teach?:
Teaching is the most challenging, but fun job in the world. Everyday is new and different. I love to challenge my students to learn something new and difficult and do it in a format in which we all have fun learning.
