Class Description:
I have a talkative class who loves to help out the school community. During recess, they help the assistant principal with the second graders. In the mornings, they help the plant manager clean the campus. One hundred percent of them receive free lunch, which qualifies them to be title one students. Unfortunately my class is limited in technology. Many of my students have never seen a digital camera except for my personal one. In addition, we have only have one computer to share. There are no major stores or retailers in our neighborhood. The nearest grocery store is one mile away.

Why Do I Teach?:
I teach because I love to inspire young minds. Each day is a new exciting day and my days are never repetitive. I chose South LA to teach because I wanted to tell children that there is a beautiful world outside their neighborhood. I try to encourage parents to take their children to free excursions such as the museums and beaches. I want students to explore the world around them. I have been working at this school since 1989 and I never regret any moment of it.
