Ms. Kane We are learning about ladybugs. Our most recent art project involved having the students cut a leaf from green construction paper. We then had them dip their thumbs in red paint. Now that the paint is dry, we were able to draw on the dots! So cute :) Mar 23, 2011

Class Information:
Room Number: 16B
Students per Class: 12
Class Description:
My students are aged 3-5 years and are all given the label "autistic" as their educational classification. They are a wonderful group of boys! They are in a program with embedded ABA support given. These children are considered to have a "mild-moderate" form of autism. We are working hard to matriculate as many as we can onto a regular education Kindergarten classroom.
Position:
Special Education Teacher
Needs:
Each student is working on their individual goals, but they all have deficits in language skills, social interaction, and can present with idiosyncratic behaviors.
My Philosophy:
Kids respond best when expectations are clear, consistent, and age-appropriate. If a child is not successful with something, it is my responsibility, not theirs, to get them to progress and eventually succeed.
