Class Description:
Our class is a therapeutic milieu special day classroom for students in grades four and five whose academic, behavioral, and emotional needs require a specialized setting. Themission for our class is, through a coordinated and combined effort of academic, behavioral, and emotional supports, to provide each student opportunities for successful educational experiences. Once successful, a student may either return to mainstream class experiences, move to a less restrictive special education experience, or continue in another therapeutic classroom environment with ongoing supports depending on student need.

Why Do I Teach?:
I have been teaching since 1971, all special education. I continue to teach special education because I believe there is a light in each and every child, regardless of the challenges. I don't believe in "throw away" children and feel these kids have been education's throw away kids.
