11th grade students taking American Literature as a requisite. They are Average to low level learners
Position:
English 3 Teacher
Needs:
I would like a small video camera to tape students' presentations in both my English and Spanish classes. I think this would motivate my students and plus, they love to see themselves on TV!
My Philosophy:
Read, read, and read some more! Read books to learn vocabulary, lessons on life, and travel without leaving the room. Given the right tools they will learn. Bringing American Literature alive to the classroom is my goal.

About Me:
I have been teaching for 33 years and I am still going strong. I have taught ESOL, English, Reading, and Spanish. I began my career in Puerto Rico, and I am currently at Tavares High School, Tavares, Florida. I have taught elementary, middle school and high school. I work well with the high schoolers and enjoy the challenge.

Activities:
I love to read, sing, travel, and visit my grandchildren.
Favorite Books:
I love many books, but among my favorites are Of Mice and Men, and mystery/thrillersby Patterson, Koontz, Jance, Garland, and other writers.

"If you don't have anything good to say, don't say anything at all." Also, "Distraction leads to failure."
Interests:
Books, antiques, music, movies, karaoke, and traveling.
Employment History:
I worked in Puerto Rico for 7 years and have worked in Central Florida, Orange and Lake County for 26 years.
Why Do I Teach?:
I teach because it is my calling. I have taught for 33 years and I still love it. I like the challenge, and believe me, it gets more challinging every year. I love my students and I love what I teach. I was born to teach!
