Class Description:
I have 10 severely disabled high school students in my class. My students are mentally retarded and autistic. They are low verbal and nonverbal communicators. Each student in my class has a notebook with pictures of common items to make their wants and needs known to others. I have 2 great assistant who work with me on teaching functional academics, self care and vocational skills. These skills are taught in daily cooking and baking lessons. I make picture directions for each recipe so my students can become as independent as possible.
