I teach English Language Arts and Social Studies and am in charge of Special Education paperwork for the fifth grade. My classes are heterogeneous and I service most of the fifth grade students during my Social Studies time. I love to laugh and have fun with my students, but they know there is a time to be serious and focus as well.
Position:
Inclusion Teacher
Needs:
I would love any technology that would help me teach my students more 21st century skills. Primarily, if I had a wall-mounted projector and laptops I could do so much more.
My Philosophy:
I believe that all students can learn given the right environment. Students are faced with so many challenges in and out of school, so it is my job to make them feel comfortable and help them learn.
Personal Information:
About Me:
I love my classroom and my students and am always looking for ways to teach better and more efficiently.
College and Degrees:
I received my undergraduate degree from Saint Joseph College in Child Study and Elementary Education. I received my graduate degree from Wheelock College in Language and Literacy. I also have a Certificate in Children's Literature from Framingham State College.
Activities:
I enjoy reading children's books and meeting children's authors, building puzzles, spending time with my family, and running.
Favorite Books:
I don't have a favorite, although I do tend to lean towards any realistic fiction novel.
Employment History:
This is my third year working in Millis. Before Millis, I worked in Dedham for two years and Brookline for one year.
Why Do I Teach?:
I teach because nothing in this world makes me happier. I love the enthusiasm my students bring to learning and I love helping them solve problems to make their world better.
