Shenandoah Elementary School
Class Information:
Class Description:
My school is a pre-K through sixth grade, neighborhood school located in Tower Grove East area of Saint Louis, Missouri. Ninety percent of the school enrollment is African American and many of the students qualify for free lunches. The students in my classroom are excited learners that come from many different backgrounds. Most are from low-income families that are unable to give much support from home.
Position:
Elementary School Teacher
Needs:
Many of the resources requested are items that a classroom should already come equipped with, but the lack of funding in the district, has left my classroom with very little resources to assist the children with learning. All of the requested materials and resources will better assist in the learning and teaching that takes place in the classroom everyday.
My Philosophy:
The goal is to provide a comfortable and fun atmosphere to enhance and increase student learning
Personal Information:
Why Do I Teach?:
Every child deserves a champion-an adult who will never give up on them, who understands the power of connection, and insists that they become the best that they can possibly be. Many of my students have the potential to be champions, but sometimes it's a matter of resources to assist in reaching their full potential.
