I use the computer lab to integrate technology into the lives of our students.
Position:
Multimedia Enrichment
Needs:
I would love to do more with video and digital photography, but time and resources are limited. These tools can be amazing resources for students to demonstrate other curriculum knowledge such as story telling, writing, social studies, science, etc.
My Philosophy:
Teaching 21st Century Skills to the next generation empowers students to make a difference in ways that were fantastical daydreams just 20 years ago. By the time students graduate from elementary school they can communicate with people from other continents, research lands far from home, and create student-invested products that demonstrate higher level synthesis of the curriculum. Digital photography, texts, chats, emails, videography, presentation tools, word processing, databases are all new lenses that today's students see the world and the future. I believe that the more hands-on experiences students receive with these new tools, the more competent and creative the students will become.
