Class Description:
This is a US History class for 8th graders. The time frame that we cover is from early civilizations through reconstruction post civil war. The class uses a variety of medias to engage the students in learning about our great country's history.

We could use digital cameras and other digital technology. Wecould use hand held GPS units in our geography unit..
My Philosophy:
This generation are digital natives while most of the rest of us are digital immigrants. Everything digital is engaging to them so to have digital tools will only enhance their learning. I feel students are life long learners whose needs include incorporating technology as a part of their learning.

Why Do I Teach?:
I love inspiring my students while looking at history to ask themselves whose story isn't being told and why. It is wonderful for them to experience that they too are history, that it isn't just old dead white men.
