Country High School
Class Information:
Room Number: room 9
Students per Class: 150
Class Description:
Math Classes: Algebra Access and Business Math This is an alternative High School. Many students are from low income, minority backgrounds, teen mothers and fathers, probation students, and some expelled from other school's students, court appointed students, SARB Students, and students who for one reason or another are behind in credits. Students all have different abilities.
Position:
teacher
Needs:
We need a class set up lap top computers to run the math programs we have purchased. We do not want them hooked up to the internet because the students will not stay focused on the assigned work. Doing word processing and the math applications is what our goal is for these students. We would like a couple of printers so they can print out the work and turn in completed assignments. We would like to have a canon digital camera to use to make claymation movies. A video camera to make movies for our school. Please help us.
My Philosophy:
Where do you want me to start. First, our educational system is failing 1/2 of our students. Those who are not inclined to attend college are left out and lost with no focus or direction by the state or federal government. Our school system should take some hints from the European's and should focus on all students strengths and interests by combining a vocational or academic path for students to choose. In doing this we would have fewer drop outs, more qualified blue collar and skilled crafts persons, as well as our professionals. I am a firm believer that on all people are suited for college and we need to prepare everyone for an occupation.
