Class Description:
Culturally and economically diverse classroom in the City of Portland, Maine. We're a title 1 school with a large immigrant population, and the school is an Expeditionary Learning Outward Bound school.

Needs:
With city school funding in dire straits I would truly appreciate funding to let us purchase either access to BrainPop (a site with content specific cartoons), or, even more usefully, to explorelearning.com,an interactive math and science site that was particularly good with students when I used it last year ( on a free month's trial).
My Philosophy:
Students learn and remember best 1. When they are directly engaged in figuring things out for themselves 2. In a wide variety of ways, so it's important to provide different kinds of learning opportunities 3. When they are at ease and, if possible, having a good time.
