Class Description:
My students are hungry for the opportunity to learn and experience new topics of interest while applying those skills in class. One of the paths students use to discover information is through the use of technology. I know all of my students would benefit from having updated technology that was relevant and applicable to our ever changing world. Their desire to learn is a driving force that sets the tone for our class. My students will excel this year if given the right tools, and technology is a great way to help them achieve their goals.

Needs:
My class has an Active Board, and I would like to use GPS units to track in real time locations of objects when teaching mapping skills. I believe that technology can play an important roll in student's understanding of the world around them. Using GPS along with Google Maps, can be a fun and interactive way to explore that world.
My Philosophy:
My philosophy on teaching is simple, "Teach what you love, love what you teach, and never stop being a student of learning."

About Me:
I grew up in a low social-economic area in northeast Oregon. With little opportunity to excel in academics after high school, I soon realized the value of a good education. Earning degrees in college laid the cornerstones of my life direction as an educator. Becoming a life long learner is just one of many goals in my life, and teaching children has made that goal a reality. Teaching children is an honor and a privilege I take serious each day.

Why Do I Teach?:
I teach to inspire and encourage our youth for a better tomorrow. Kids need to dream, and a good education can make those dreams come true.
