I use a collaborative model in working at Scofield Magnet Middle School. My goal is to work with every team and teach to really integrate technology as a major part of their curricula, not use it is an add on.

About Me:
I am in my 35th year of teaching! For the past 3 years I have worked as a library media specialist in a middle school, but my prior experiences include primary education, gifted and special education and 6-8th grade social studies.
College and Degrees:
I attended Northwestern University and graduated from Kent State University with a BA in Elementary Ed. I have two Masters degrees from the University of Connecticut, one in special education and a brand new degree in instructional technology. I also received state certification to be a library media specialist.
Activities:
I love to read, both fiction and nonfiction. I spend countless hours surfing the net, but when the weather is nice I hike, cook or work in the garden.
Favorite Books:
The World is Flat by Thomas Friedman and Water for Elephants by Sara Gruen are my two recent favorites.

Why Do I Teach?:
Teaching is the future, to use a cliche. I love to learn and I want to share this with young people. I really believe that reading and a love of learning can help children to change the world.
