Favorite Books:
I'm an avid Karen Kingsbury fan...I've read every novel she's written and can always tell you the date and title of her upcoming release.
Favorite Quotes:
Make it count!
Interests:
I rock paper and scissors! Scrapbooking is my hobby of choice. My husband and I have two gorgeous girls who are the focus of my layouts. And if you were to step into my classroom...well...let'sjust say you might guess I'm a scrapper. Perhaps the color coordinated decor of red, black, and lime green OR the stripes and polka dots OR the fact that everything has a label...I don't know...which one gives it away?!?
Employment History:
This is my 11th year to teach secondary math...and all 11 years have been in Bentonville. With 10 years of experience at Bentonville High School, I now teach 7th grade math at Washington Junior High School. I love teaching with the perspective of exactly where my students are headed in future math courses.
Why Do I Teach?:
I love teaching! And I love math! So teaching math became the obvious mission for my day to day life. I can't count the number of times parents have said, "I can't help my child with math homework." My reply has always been, "Great! That's my job, and I look forward to your support in my efforts." Too often students (and parents) maintain a level of math anxiety that can be significantly reduced by a positive learning experience. Success breeds success! And I love setting my students up for math success for years to come...bring on the calculus!
