My classes are composed of students whom are English Language Learners.
Position:

Needs:
These students have a major need in building and understanding academic language. Technology can help bridge the gap between their social and academic language.
My Philosophy:
I believe every student can learn and must be given the opportunity to do so. These students need support from their family and community.
Personal Information:
About Me:
I am bilingual and have worked with English Language Learners for 10 years. I hold a pilot's license and an amatuer radio license. I love math & science.
College and Degrees:
I graduated with a degree in Elementary Education with an add-on license in English as a Second Language from North Carolina Agricultural & Technical University (NCA&T). I earned a master's in Reading from East Carolina University.
Interests:
I enjoy time with my family and going to Walt Disney World. I also enjoy genealogy.
Employment History:
I have worked within the same school system since I earned my degree and received my teaching license. 10 yeas have flown by so quickly.
Why Do I Teach?:
I teach because I want to advocate for my English language learners. I want to show them how they can have a voice and make a difference in their lives and in those around them.
