Class Information:
Room Number: 203

Class Description:
As the ESL Coordinator at P.S. 48, I oversee the programming for all English Language Learners. In that position I collaboratively teach students English, Science, and Social Studies to first through fifth grades. Additionally, I advise the P.S. 48 Chess Club.
Position:
ESL Coordinator
Needs:
Our students may come from a disadvantaged background but that does not stop them. It is more than just my 'wish' to ensure that today's students of the South Bronx develop digital savvy skills, and in the process, guaranteeing their success in the future.
My Philosophy:
The world is shrinking as connectivity increases through technology. This is not the future, this is now. I seek to keep the students of the South Bronx connected- to their neighborhood, their city, their world- through the latest technological advances. I will make this happen regardless of the barriers language, money, or bureaucracy present between my students and success. They will be connected.
Personal Information:
Why Do I Teach?:
Service to the community had always been my passion. Eight years ago while experiencing the tragic events of September 11 while interning on Capital Hill in Washington, D.C. I realized that my commitment to service would become more local. Ever since, I have invested in the youth of the South Bronx at P.S. 48. Seeing their eyes light up as the 'get it' never gets old.
