The student-produced newscast, CLE Live! (Camera, lights, education) is now in its 7th year. The show began in the 2004-2005 school year with two students and has grown to three classes of over 40. CLE’s namesake and first anchor, Casey Lynae England graduated from Oklahoma State University with a degree in Broadcast Journalism. Casey graduated from Howe in 2005.
Position:
Teacher
Needs:
We basically operate a live online news show production on a shoe string budget. Flip video cameras would allow my students to shoot stories beyond the four walls of our campus and bring in the world around us. All my students will benefit from the Flip's ease of use and compactness. A classroom set of 10 is needed.
My Philosophy:
As borrowed from Marco Torres, "My class gives some students a reason to come to school the next day." All students are welcome on the CLE Live! team.
Personal Information:
Why Do I Teach?:
I'm in my element when I'm in the classroom. I often say, I'm not the expert, I am passionate facilitator. My students produce a weekly live newscast that airs on the internet. My goal as a teacher is to prepare my students for the global stage of life. My class builds confidence in my students, teaches perseverance, communication skills, teamwork, empathy all while focusing on 21st century skills. I can't imagine doing anything else, I absolutely love what I do!
