I have just received an Interactive Smart Board for my classroom this year. I would like a speaker system that helps the children attend to the teacher's voice and filters out the background noises. I would also like to help my colleagues receive a Smart Board for their rooms.
My Philosophy:
Make it visual....tell a story to go with it and the kids will remember it.

I have written a book that helps teachers teach the difficult words and sounds of first grade.

Activities:
I teach first grade in school and church both. Play with my grandson and tutor students after school and in the summer...also garden and can vegetables and jellies.

Charlie the Caterpillar, Biographies of Jim Thorpe, Sequoyah and Will Rogers. Anything by Robert Munsch

Why Do I Teach?:
I can't tell you the joy I receive watching first grade students learn to read. This is my 29th year in first grade and can't imagine quitting any time soon. I tutor after school during the school year and during the summer.
