I have a Multiage class of second and third graders. I receive twelve new second graders every year and I remain their teacher until the end of third grade. Each student learns at their level. I differentiate instruction depending on individual student needs. We do a lot of cooperative learning, small groups and independent work.
Position:
Classroom Teacher
Needs:
Our district has committed to improving technology, however the money available only provides the basics of a laptop and LCD projector.
My Philosophy:
Each child is a individual who comes to school with a unique perspective and personal strengths. My job as an educator is to determine what strengths each child possesses and in what areas they struggle. Then, as their teacher, I need to facilitate their learning and growth focusing on their individual learning style. Students learn at different rates. This difference is expected and celebrated in my multiage classroom.
