Why Do I Teach?:
As interesting as it is that Johnny from second period does indeed like Sara, I teach because I love science. Science helps us make sense of the world. Each year, I partake in activities that will enhance my passion for science and subsequently enrich and personalize my curriculum. From taking a course at the community college to travelling to an exotic location, I am fortunate enough to have first-hand accounts of applied science. I have retold the experience of hiking on an active lava flow in Hawaii during geology lessons. I have explained density in relation to my time in Venice, Italy. This year I will share my flight experience on the vomit comet. Through hands-on activities and the sharing of my own experiences I hope to instill in my students an appreciation for the power of scientific knowledge.
