Single Unit Why I need this:
I am responsible for teaching social studies to the whole regular education 4th grade in my school and I do not have any maps available for my classroom. I was just able to get Google Earth downloaded to my computer, but I need a projector to make the images visible to the students. The projector would also help in the showing of some really good science videos that we have available, but the students can't really see them well on the television that I have in my classroom.

Class Description:
I teach 5 classes of Social Studies and Science a day with about 22 students each.
Position:
4th grade Teacher
Needs:
I am desparately needing some a projector and a document camera for my classroom. Science is very hands on and because my classes are short, I need technology to make my lessons as time efficient as possible, as well as, very hands on. As for social studies, I currently do not have any maps in my classroom, and I do have some digital versions of some, but no way of projecting them so that all the students can see them.
My Philosophy:
I believe that all teachers need to teach technology to our students starting early on because it is the way of the future. These students will have to know their way around the internet, computers, software applications, and computer related hardware for most jobs that will be available in the future. They need to be able to learn using technology, as well as, how to communicate and present information with it too.

About Me:
I have been teaching for 4 years in all subject areas in the grades of Pre-K, 3rd and 4th.
Interests:
I love technology! My hobbies include photography, making new documents on the computer, and I'm currently learning more about web design.
Why Do I Teach?:
I love to impact young minds who are still trying to find out who they are and what they want to be. I love the way a child looks after understanding a new concept that has been hard to understand before ,or finally succeding on a difficult task! The kids that I work with do not have many opportunities of learning at home and I understand that sometimes, I am not only their teacher, but their cheerleader, coach, and the one thing that is constant.
