Why Do I Teach?:
I am an educational/instructionalleader that desires the best from and for my students. I have had positive experiences as a learner and encourage my teachers to provide comparable (better) experiences for our students. We are a small, rural school where our students rarely see urban areas and metropolitan cities. However, we partner with organizations to secure resources and experiences for our students that are similar to students their age. Our town was devastated by Hurricanes Matthew and Florence, where many of our students/familieslost everything. The students/familieswere and some are still displayed. Many are still struggling to recover from the disaster. During this school closure I am currently at school seeking resources to support our students without internet access during the mandated school closure due to COVID-19. I am a principal, but I'm also a mother and educator that has committed my life to helping others. I believe that in spending my time teaching, encouraging, mentoring, and impacting others will not only benefit those I support but my personal children. Someone has always been there to positively support my children in my absence, and I know it's based upon the work I'm doing for others. Therefore, a partnership through Digital Wish would greatly be appreciated and used for the purpose of supporting teaching and learning.
