Why I need this:
Our classroom currently does not have a class set of calculators. Working at a small private school, we currently do not have the money to purchase a class set of calculators. With these calculators I can teach the children how to check work with the calculators, meet my curriculum requirements for using calculators, but I can also allow a new fun way to review multiplication facts. |

Why I need this:
Our classroom is equipped with an Activ Board, which is similar to Smart Boards. Our only issue with such an awesome piece of technology, is that our projector is older, and so to use the board, it requires that we turn off all the lights in the classroom. The only problem with this is when the students are taking notes from the Activ Board, the classroom is so dark, that it is hard for the students to read what they are writing. Last month I went to a workshop where they were advertising both the Smart and Activ Boards, I was amazed that in a large room with the lights turned on how clearly you could read the board, unfortunately this is not the case for my class. |
