Class Description:
I teach all students grades PK to grade 5. All students are hearing impaired and many have additional handicapping conditions. I teach visual arts, music/dance, and resource.
Position:
Arts & Humaities Teacher for the Deaf
Needs:
We are always in need of basic supplies for arts & humanities. I have one digital camera we share for taking photos to use in art. It would be nice to have one for each student during class (up to 8 students each class period). SD cards are always needed as well as blank/recordable CDs and DVDs. Dreaming... it would be nice to have a nice scanner and printer with plenty of ink and photo paper. My resource classes would benefit from calculators and computer programs that reinforce reading skills through visual reinforcement.
My Philosophy:
All students benefit educationally through arts and humanities. Deaf children are by nature very visual learners and technology enhances their educational opportunities.
