Why I need this:
As a STEM classroom teacher, I want to inspire my students to imagine, plan, create, test, share and improve their work. We do many engineering type projects where having a 3D digital printer would enhance their experience. One for example is where they need to design and build a bird feeder. Another is having them build a plant box/ container. Using crafting supplies is wonderful, and the students enjoy it. If possible, I'd also like to open the windows of creativity and technology and help them see what's possible using tools we have in the 21st century. I feel that when they experience some of these newer types of technology, it sparks their sense of wonder and imagination. |

Why I need this:
I'm learning all about place-based learning and the benefit to children to get them outside, exploring the world around them and learning from the world they live in. I'd like to use digital cameras so that as I take my students exploring outside, they can use camera technology as a way to record what they saw and refer to it as we come back inside the classroom to question, explore, investigate, create, and collaborate. |
