Why I need this:
I am extremely interested in Web 2.0 technologies, so I strive to incorporate such concepts in to many of my lesson plans. One of the most successful activities that I use (and that I have taught all the teachers at my school how to use through a required professional development session) is Podcasting. In Music Technology, students learn the ins and outs of advanced digital audio recording through this unit and in Spanish, students practice the target language and research and discuss cultural concepts.
Using Podcasting in my classroom creates the opportunity for students to feel important to the world when their podcast is published on iTunes for all their friends and family to download. Furthermore, as a part of the digital generation, they love Podcasting, as it is something that they are familiar with in their daily lives. I see improvements in both language acquisition as well as technology comprehension whenever we use audio recording.
However, my previous pair of headset with microphones that was purchased three years ago are largely broken, ineffective, and missing. Having these microphones would ensure a better sound quality as well as easier recording capabilities. |
