Why I need this:
I teach special needs children. Research has shown that technology, properly used, can significantly increase the academic time these youth spend on the task in a classroom. I am a teacher in a non-title 1 school. We don't have the necessary funding to outfit our youth with consistent, operable, devices. I took a class this past summer for Adobe Captivate 2017. This is the latest version I personally paid $1800 out of my own pocket to prepare myself for this school year. I am forced to use the same, outdated, equipment that we have had for the last 2 years.
The technology that is availble to teachers is amazing. We have smartboards, One Note, Office 365, Adobe Captivate, etc..etc.. I'm personally ready to make significant changes in my classroom and in the homes of my students. Now I just need a reliable interface for my students. I have requested some of the ipad 2s. However, the chrome book is extremely consistent with all of the different forms of media that the students can access.
