My Critical Thinking class is a survey in advanced inquiry skills. My students learn to read into everything: films, almanacs, poetry, debates, comics. The point is to never stop sifting through the layers of meaning. Then they create videos, events, projects to inspire thoughtfulness and creativity in others. Our scope of focus includes social skills and anti-bullying ads.
Position:
Critical Thinking Teacher
Needs:
I need flip video in my classroom! My students write public service announcements and I need to be able to film them directly in class without having to pull the students from other classes and schedule the filming with other teachers.
My Philosophy:
This year's motto in my class is "No Barney answers." Barney answers are the easy, nice answers we arrive at in order to feel good without thinking. Thinking requires some tough choices.
