Advanced Yearbook & Photography Club Digital Camera Mobile Lab, $3449.00, 0.00% raised
Advanced Yearbook & Photography Club Digital Camera Mobile Lab Rank:
Single Unit Why I need this:
Currently we have more students interested in and signing up for photography classes than we have cameras. While they are good at sharing the cameras and being patient with the shortage, I would love to have enough cameras for all enrolled students, and to allow for more students to sign up for Digital Photography, and Photography 2 classes. This would cover the current shortage, and provide coverage should any of our current cameras break during the school year. With a camera for every student enrolled, I hope to allow them to take better and more varied photos, and become more comfortable with a camera and its functions. Most importantly,I hope that having enough materials will help my students love photography class, and become thoughtful producers and consumers of media and visual culture.

Why Do I Teach?:
Picture I believe that art education is important in that it teaches students to look, to consider, and to reflect. The process of art making requires collaboration, persistence, and creative problem solving. As an educator, I strive to deliver an art curriculum that is accessible and relevant to all students, whether they go on to study and work in creative fields, or become tradespeople, or writers, or neuroscientists. I seek to provide experience and practice in artistic styles, techniques and media, and to teach a contemporary and relevant curriculum from a student centered approach. I want to use art to counter inequity and apathy and build stronger communities through comprehensive multicultural education. I want my teaching to supplement students’ critical and analytical abilities and afford them a more informed reading of visual and media culture.
