Class Description:
I teach 6 classes a day, 2 are inclusion classes where, with a co-teacher, I teach children with a variety of disabilities ranging from autism to emotional disorders and mild devlopmental disabilities. 4 classes a day are being taught literature. The reading levels in these classes range from first grade to twelth grade. In my other 2 glasses, I am teaching grammar and writing.

Needs:
A smart board and projector A new television larger than 15 inches so that all my students can see it! Lap tops for the students to work on Wi fi capabilities for the laptops
My Philosophy:
Students of the 21st century need to be prepared for careeers of the 21st century. They need to be literate in reading, writing, math, and technology. This is not happening at present in Polk County, Georgia. We need to be proactive in educating our children before they fall behind the world at large.

About Me:
I am a married mother of two beautiful, grown children. My son is married and the father of a 4 year old son, Daniel. He is currently employed as a Maintenance Technician. He has an Associate's Degree in Maintenance Technology. My daughter is married and has a 6 year old son, Cooper, and a 3 year old daughter, Alexandra. She is currently obtaining her master's degree in Occupational Therapy. She works in several school systems in middle/south Georgia performing Occupational Therapy on school children.
College and Degrees:
I have a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology and Sociology from Shorter College in Rome, GA. I have a Masters of Education in Special Education from The University of West Georgia in Carrollton, GA. I have a Specialists in Education in Educational Technology from The University of West Georgia in Carrollton, GA.
Activities:
I currently sponsor and am actively involved in our school's 4-H club, the Helen Ruffin Reading Bowl Team, the Academic Bowl Team, the Improvisational Comedy Team, and hope to be coaching the Basketball Cheerleading squad. I am very active in the school's PTO and the school's discipline committee, as well as serving as the 7th grade chairperson.

Why Do I Teach?:
To help the middle school children of Polk County Georgia become more literate and become better educated and become better citizens of the county of Polk, the state of Georgia, the country of the US, and the world!
