iPads have introduced a new era in teaching with technology in the classroom. I have seen what it can do with my son who is diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder, and I wish my students can benefit as well. iPads have been noted in many publications and journals for their benefit in the special needs classroom. It is a communication device, academic learning tool and social skills teaching tool, among many other areas that would benefit. In my opinion, the iPad is the best thing to happen to Autism since Applied Behavioral Analysis. I work with primarily non-verbal students and an iPad would be a blessing in our classroom.
