Class Description:
I teach Spanish to all students at BHE, grades K-5.
Position:
Spanish teacher
Needs:
I would love 4 Flip Video cameras to use with my third - fifth grade classes. The Spanish classes are mostly oral and the cameras would be a valuable tool and incentive to the students as they record various projects from class. One project that I would especially like to do is for the students to create "digital scrapbooks". As the students learn how to talk about themselves, their classmates and their teacher, they would add a "page" (video clip) about that into movie maker. At the end of the year they would finish off the video and have a scrapbook of the year.
My Philosophy:
I think learning should be fun! I used lots of games in my classes and we do silly things. The enjoy seeing the students learn without them even realizing they are learning.

About Me:
My wonderful husband, Rich, and I have been married for almost fifteen years. We have two daughters who are both in middle school. I learned Spanish in Costa Rica. I have lived in Haiti, Costa Rica, the Dominican Republic and Mexico.

I have taught for 15 years and was a missionary for 12 years. This is my third year at Bethel-Hanberry Elementary School.
Why Do I Teach?:
I teach because I want to help children learn and I want to be an encouragement to them. I want to see kids succeed!
