Class Description:
I offer a "Technology Assistant" class to the high school students. The students apply for the class like a job. The students learn various technology troubleshooting, become experts in software, teach technology lessons to classes and complete varuios other technology jobs. I also teach yearbook and a digital media class that allows kids to learn different software programs.

Needs:
The biggest request from teachers is teaching students how to use digital cameras to do class projects. We have one digital camera that is checked out by the teachers. We have one copy of Photo Shop for the students to manipulate photos. Teachers are beginning to design class webpages and additional cameras and photo software will be needed to make the pages reflect what is happening in the classroom.

I run the high school library and teach computer applications, yearbook and the technology classes.

Employment History:
Taught middle school in Hawaii for 5 years, teaching middle school and high school in Oregon for 5 years.
Why Do I Teach?:
I planned to be a CPA then coached a 7th and 8th grade volleyball team while in college. After experiencing the girls' excitement when they learned a new skill then performed it correctly, made me fall in love with teaching. Knowing that I have helped someone learn something they will use in their future, makes me feel like I am doing something good with my life.
